Jens Pistorius, one of our MBT Students, was a speaker at the inaugural RPA Summit which was held in Sydney on April 27. He presented to more than 60 business and technology leaders on what it takes to build a scalable and sustainable RPA capability in an organisation. Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is an emerging technology which helps organisations to automate business processes. These improvements result in cost efficiencies and enhanced customer experiences.
His talk addressed challenges and concerns that naturally occur when ramping up RPA initiatives from a pilot stage into a full-scale organisational capability. He provided governance frameworks, tools and practical solutions which were well received by the audience.
Jens commented that his ongoing MBT studies have helped him a great deal in preparing for this talk. The concepts taught in MBT core subjects such as Strategic Business Management, IT Strategy and Strategic Finance proved to be invaluable in articulating the link between emerging technologies and business strategy. During the Q&A he even referred to John Kotter’s “Eight Steps of Leading Change” which is one of the key concepts taught in Leading Organisational Change. Jens is also a member of the MBT Toastmaster Club where he improved his public speaking and presentation skills. He concluded in saying: “There is no way I could have done any of this in my pre-MBT life.”
